Daniela Prataviera

I did my CELTA in 2012 after finishing university. I moved to China to teach in a high school and loved it! From there, I moved to the Czech Republic and Latvia to teach in private language schools, as well as teaching at universities in the UK. I came to Leeds in 2015 to do my DELTA and MA ELT, and have been here ever since.

I have lots of experience in teacher training and exam preparation, as well as teaching on academic courses.

Outside of work, I love going around the Yorkshire countryside and socialising. Leeds is great for restaurants, cafes and bars, so it’s a great city to go out in and meet new people. I hope you love it here too!

Outside of work, I am a keen cyclist and achieved my 1st Dan black belt in Ju-Jutsu recently. I enjoy travelling and meeting people from all over the world.

I have been a linguist since my successful completion of BA programme in 1997 at University of Mulhouse. I went on to study my masters at the same university and obtained my Masters Degree in 1999.

I have been teaching English in various European countries for the last 17 years. I also hold a recent CELTA and I am an IELTS, TOEFL and GRE specialist.

Marc Jackson

EFL Tutor

I began teaching in 2011, after many years in the photographic industry. I decided to retrain as an English teaching because I found the process of teaching extremely rewarding. I’ve spent much of my time teaching in Asia, first in Vietnam and then in Thailand. I particularly enjoy teaching ESP (English for Specific Purposes), as well as exam classes for academic and business.

In my spare time, I am still a keen photographer and enjoy keeping my skills up to date. I enjoy travelling and reading, and I am a keen artist.

Ahmed El Turabi

Welfare Officer

Hi, I’m Ahmed and I’m responsible for making sure that all our students feel confident and comfortable with their chosen programme at Leeds Language Academy.  If you need some advice on anything which is making your studies difficult you can talk with me, but I won’t do your homework for you! I am very familiar with the Leeds and the location around the language academy, so I normally give you a short inroduction when you first arrive.

Originally, I was born in Leeds when my parents came to study here many years ago and decided to stay. Now I really think that you will find Leeds an interesting and enjoyable place to complete your language studies. Perhaps you may even stay here yourself. Although, I don’t teach any classes I still like to help students practice their English (especially at our conversation cafe) and I like to help students understand what options they have after they graduate from one of our courses. I’m happy to say that we have many returning students as it’s always nice to see a familiar face. I’m also a very enthusiastic football coach, so if you want to have a game of football (or any other sport) let me know… All the best with your language goals!
